  • I've been staying with my sister and brother-in-law in VA which has been great.  It makes me laugh that every time I meet someone from their church and they ask which of us sisters is older my niece says, "My mom is.  And they have a younger brother and sister.  And my uncle got married before Meredith!"  :)  Today she finally said, "Meredith, when ARE you going to get married?"  Don't worry, I gave her the spiritual answer.

I came to VA thinking I was going to acquire this great tan but the other night I was wishing I had brought a sweatshirt!  This week however is supposed to much warmer, whcih I am very grateful for.  And can I just make a general announcement of joy--mostly to the girls--my dress once again needs to be altered.  Ahh, satisfaction.

  •      Old movies have such cheesy humor but I love it.  Right now "The Thin Man" is on tv--random fact for you.  Michelle and I are traveling with the Canfield families from Florida to North Carolina.  Fun times.  I had mac and cheese for dinner at Cracker Barrel...ahhh...the simple pleasures in life.  Obviously there's nothing super exciting in my life going on right now.:)  Recently I attended the latest Life Action reunion/wedding.

  • Yesterday was Christy's birthday.  I stopped by their trailer in the morning and gave her a present and watched with the kids as she opened it.  When she was done Faith and Aiden went back to the table.  As I was leaving Faith said, "Bye, Miss Meredith.  Now remember, my birthday is after mommy's."  Kids are so honest.

  • Yesterday Crystal and I put the lights on my house--very fun, except it was about 75 degrees and raining.

Getting on the roof was easy. Getting off was another story. :) Tomorrow I am going to an Avalon Christmas concert at my church which is exciting!  Other than that, life is normal.  I've been reading When I Don't Desire God by John Piper.  Two things he said have been going around in my head for awhile now...1st quote:

"What that means for letting the words of Jesus abide in us is that we do not just read or memorize or meditate or listen to the Bible the way we would ponder the wise sayings from ancient teachers.  Jesus is alive today, but they aren't.  He does not intend for our thinking about his words to replace fellowship with him through his words.  He intends for musing on his words to be fellowship with him.  We hear the words of Jesus as living words spoken by a living person.  It is a spiritually intentional act of relating to a living person when you take his words into your mind.  This is what it means for his words to abide in us."
